New Passport Requirements for U.S. Citizens

Effective June 8, 2007: U.S. citizens entering the U.S. via air from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or countries in the Caribbean region will only need to present proof that they have applied for passports, along with government-issued photo identification. The federal government is making this accommodation for air travel due to longer than expected processing times for passport applications in the face of record-breaking demand. This new rule is in effect through September 30, 2007.
